Overview

Workstation Commons contains a collection of building blocks on top Workstation Connector (Mx 9) commonly used when building app connected to peripherals devices with Mendix Workstation.


This version supports Mendix Studio Pro 9.24.11-10.21.0. Use Workstation Commons for Mendix Studio Pro versions 10.21.1+.

    • Camera functions - We added functions for barcode scanning and motion detection with camera devices.
    • Printing functions - We added functions to print plain text, raw printer commands, and PDF documents.
    • Message parsing - We added functions that convert the messages received from Bluetooth, camera, file, and printer devices into objects.
    • General utilities - We added functions to encode and decode Base64 content.


Improvements

    • Request and SendMessage - Every device operation is now available as a request, which waits for the response of the device, and as a message, which is sent without waiting. For more information. This has the following implications:
      • Breaking change - We renamed the existing Device Utils functions to their Request or SendMessage names. For example, Printer_Print is now Printer_RequestPrint, and BLE_Read is now BLE_SendRead. Update the calls in your app after upgrading the module.
      • Breaking change - We removed the CardReader_TransmitAPDU function.


Bug Fixes

    • We fixed an issue where long messages in the device logger were not wrapped.
