Overview

Diagrams for Mendix projects usually live outside the project. You create them separately, export as images, and store them somewhere your team might find them. They get outdated, disconnected from the models they describe, and forgotten.

The Mendix Draw.io Editor solves this by embedding the full Draw.io diagramming experience directly inside Studio Pro. Right-click any folder or module, select Add other → Diagram, and start drawing. Your diagrams are stored as custom documents in your project, version controlled alongside your models.

You get the complete Draw.io editor with all shape libraries, connectors, templates, and formatting options. Architecture diagrams, integration flows, process maps, wireframes, ER diagrams, sequence diagrams, network topologies, org charts, UML, BPMN, anything Draw.io supports, you can create without leaving Studio Pro.

Typical usage scenario

Create and manage diagrams directly inside your Mendix project instead of using external tools. Right-click any folder or module → Add other → Diagram and start drawing. Use it for architecture diagrams, integration flows, process maps, wireframes, ER diagrams, network topologies, or anything else Draw.io supports. Diagrams are version controlled alongside your models, so they stay in sync with your project.
